Bhagwan Manav Kalyan Samiti (BMKS) is a non-profit, non-governmental civil society organisation based in Mau district of Uttar Pradesh, India. BMKS believes in participatory approaches and practices participatory methodologies for empowering the socially excluded and deprived communities. The organisation was established in 2000 by a group of social activists after brainstorming and need assessment of Mau district where the people suffered deprivation as seen through the lens of developmental indicators.

The project seeks to address challenges of rights and entitlements, develop women leadership and strengthen local self-governance in the current context.

COVID vaccination drive covered 76 villages in 36 gram panchayats of Ghosi block of Mau district. These villages had very poor coverage of vaccination.

This project is targeted at improving nutritional status of pregnant and lactating women and children through strengthening of ICDS.

BMKS organised adult literacy classes among those women who were illiterate and were making them impression instead of making signatures.

This project supported the community to increase entitlements to government welfare schemes, particularly MGNREGA to poor families.

These included training on child health and nutrition month, tuberculosis programme, and rehabilitation of physically challenged people.
